Santiago de la Ribera has got a beautiful sandy beach. It’s a fishing town just outside San Javier. On one side is a beautiful older military academy.
From the academy you have kilometres of beaches with beautiful promenade taking you all the way to the mud baths in Lo Pagan and salt lakes of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The beach promenade is fantastic all year round, bars and restaurants, the centre of town also has a great selection of restaurants, bars and shops.
There is also a weekly market.
Sunday is normally very busy as the Spaniards come to the coast to bathe in the warm water and breathe the fresh sea air - there is a fantastic authentic atmosphere here.
The beaches of Santiago de la Ribera such as El Castillico, Barnuevo and Colón are certified as high-quality beaches.
From Santiago de la Ribera you can take a boat trip to La Manga where you can swim in both the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. You can also cycle if you want to explore La Manga.
