NIE numbers
This is an important document and requirement you need it as soon as possible. The NIE number is used in Spain in all official matters. It stands for ‘el Número de Identidad de Extranjero’.
To buy a property in Spain, you need a NIE number. You also need this to open spanish bank account, take out insurance, contracts for heating, electricity and gas and all legal requirements.
The application is a one-time application as it remains your personal identification number in Spain. We recommend that you let your lawyer conduct the process on your behalf.
